Biography
Nahil Mahmood is a leading expert in cyber security and IT networks, possessing 24 years of rich experience, with the last 12 years specifically in cyber security & IT leadership roles.
Nahil launched his entrepreneurial journey in 2012 by founding Delta Tech – a leading cyber security consulting firm. At Delta Tech, Nahil has worked extensively since the last 10 years as principal cyber security & IT consultant with almost all major sectors including financial, telecoms, government, armed forces, retail, industrial, energy, and healthcare to deliver compelling value in over 50 cyber security & IT governance projects. His vast experience in IT & cyber security delivery, propelled by his CCIE certification, has helped him develop an expert-level domain knowledge of network/infrastructure/software/cloud security architecture & hardening.
Nahil is passionate about improving the cyber security posture of the client organization and at a national and regional level. He has developed and published original and authentic frameworks (such as the Cyber Security Maturity Matrix – CSMM, and Cyber Security Transformation Model) in order to overcome
pressing cyber security regional challenges. He is a keen speaker and writer on cyber security transformation and IT strategy and is frequently invited to moderate and speak at top government and regulator working groups on cyber security enhancement.
He has recently delivered talks on cyber security strategy at National Defense College (NDC), National Information Technology Board (NITB), Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), and has also conducted training on cyber security & IT governance in conjunction with sectoral regulators such as State
Bank of Pakistan (SBP), and Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA).
Nahil has recorded two (2) University-level courses with Virtual University on Information Security (CS205) and Network Security (CS707), and the course videos are available for free (online) to a global audience.
Nahil has previously held the positions of Founding President, Cloud Security Alliance (Pakistan), and Chapter Leader OWASP (Lahore). In July 2012, Nahil was awarded the ISC2 Asia Pacific Information Security Leadership Award (ISLA) at a ceremony in Tokyo, Japan for his contribution to the field of
Information Security. Nahil continues to play an effective & continuing role in cyber security & IT leadership.
Nahil has appeared a number of times on national TV and at national and regional IT and cyber security events as a speaker, panel moderator, and event organizer.
