My Journey of establishing HomeShopping started in 2007 when I wanted to buy myself the newly launched and trending iPod by Apple and Amazon refused to deliver the product to me in Pakistan . This was the first time I tried to place an order online and I was refused due to my location and this to me just did not seem right or how I wanted to see things to look like in the future. I kept questioning myself for days. How come in the globalised world of today where we have access to all the information in the world, why do we have a disparity of products ? I felt that it is the birth right of every person in the world to have access to every product just like how people have access to every information. So with the vision of building a platform which enables people access to all products and in the process do to products what the internet did to information which made me launch HomeShopping and since then we have become one of the leading e-commerce marketplaces in Pakistan and looking to grow in the region to make people in the region have access to all products.
What makes our journey so unique is that unlike most startups we made the business breakeven 6 months after launching and since then have mostly been profitable which has allowed us to bootstrap our entire journey and yet keep a leadership position in the industry . We are also the only pure play e-commerce marketplace in the region doing 100% prepaid orders unlike most doing Cash on delivery. eCommerce is more of a passion to me and I have been voicing for it when most thought it will never happen so I do look forward to playing my part in my lifetime to build the rails for products for the people in my region .
